Sustainable Solutions Conference 
 

Harry Kohal will be presenting at the Sustainable Soultion Conference on June 8th and 9th in Chicago, IL. He will be explaining the Tools for Measurement and Management in High Performance Buildings. Below is an abstract of the conversation that will be taking place.

"High performance buildings require new tools for facilities operations and management. This presentation will explore the tools needed to measure and manage these facilities effectively. Skills required to be successful and how to incorporate these tools and skills into everyday facility management.  

Applying LEAN principles, measures, metrics, using statistical analysis, the internet, and social media to “get the job done” in an energy starved, cash strapped environment become the facility directors new challenge. How do vendors, trade shows, blogs and the internet make the job easier and more difficult at the same time?"

Milwaukee Area Technical College - Sustainable Operations Courses

Milwaukee Area Technical College, a leader in offering training for advanced alternative energy courses and advanced manufacturing at the Energy Conservation and Advanced Manufacturing Center (ECAM) is now offering classes in Sustainable Facility Operations. You can download information below. Additional courses in Sustainability will be offered in fall of 2009 as well. These courses lead to a certificate program. Many registered attendees have advanced degrees and are looking for skills to manage their facilities more effectively. Out of state registration is accepted as well as Wisconsin residents. These classes run one night a week for 6 weeks. If demand is great enough, an intense 5 day class may be offered in the future.
