Proteus Energy Analytics FAQs

Facility managers and building owners who would like to understand the energy consumption by their buildings and identify the outliers.

This is cloud based, mobile optimized, innovative Energy Analytics application that automatically collects data from various sources ( Energy meters, Weather station, BAS systems), and provides information to the user regarding energy usage trends, comparative analysis, an outlier, weather normalized scheduled to report. This application is fully integrated with asset management system, and identities possible problem areas, and generates a work order for preventive maintenance.

  1. It provides a comparison between various buildings. The comparison can be done at much granular level (e.g. hourly, daily interval). With the bill, someone can do only monthly.
  2. It collects data automatically from the various system.
  3. It provides aggregate report for the building, site, campus
  4. Multi-user support
  5. Scheduled report
  6. Demand response – they can cut usage to save money.
  7. Co2 Report

The meter will act as an Asset in Proteus MMX. Proteus MMX has a location hierarchy. Meters can be associated with a building location in the location hierarchy (This will enhance Floor / Area room). A meter/asset will be associated with a Building Management System point to get the runtime. Proteus MMX will have indicators to identify the Asset as a Meter.

There is daily real-time reporting. The runtime value is collected on 15-30 min interval.

There is weather normalized report that shows the actual usage vs the weather adjusted usage.

The following article explains why the weather normalized report is important.

Yes. The peak is shown for each asset defined. In the case of sub-meter, they will be treated like a regular meter.

No. Since the energy app keeps the previous reading it can calculate the delta.

For consumption, yes. However, actual cost/expense, will not match due to tax and other charges.
